Anna Jansen

Night Raven

A raven with his coalblack feathers
-all dressed up for night-
decided there to turn his back,
forsake all that is light.

At night he haunts the dream of man,
so all the night is his,
that noone would dare claim it and
that none would ever miss.

Now all alone and all in darkness
-sadness on his lips-
now missing light he hugs the moon.
He is the moons eclipse.

But oh so lost the world now lies
beneath him without light.
So he decides -just for a while-
to fly back into night.
