ILKY WAYM
.. so, so dense is the night,
that I look at the sky, my being troubled by an immense lightness;
... where, where am I, I ask myself, and what god is this,
who lifts me so high, who plunges me deep and keeps me in this hollow of a body,
and before such immensity grips me and cuts my chest like a wisp?
Who, who am I to begin life in this stillness of the world
and yearn for a flight like hope?
... at the edge of the path, the fireflies cry out with their tiny light,
while with me go the veils of blood and grass,
the white stones and the poplars rustling;
... but the Milky Way remains enormous and high, and, my dear God,
scatters its celestial clusters so that here, so far away, I don't burn or die;
...tonight, no, I'll never forget it.
