He
stands on a street corner in the cold,
Half
dressed, shivering in the night.
Cars
pass him, lustfilled eyes caress him.
Finally
someone stops, not out of compassion.
The
car door opens and he gets in without a thought.
Heavy,
wet snowflakes coming down ever harder
Have
dulled his sense of caution.
Tonight
he will be beaten and violated.
In
the morning he will be put out with the trash.
Tonight
he will eat and sleep inside, out of the snow.
