Leah Barker

The Politic-Free Poem

Music sings in cauliflower strings

Not just in typical things

Like the sun, the sky,

And all things between

The cats meow is louder than the dogs howl

Who needs metaphors

When we’ve got carnivores

That eat away the stillness

Noise is the reincarnation of silence

That amplifies our creativity

Relentless individuality; watching us clean up our lives

And  destroy them unintentionally

Silence near

Coma ends

Life begins

Noise’s trends
