Meike Schrut

What remains...

This and the next month is so difficult for me
to endure
since old times dive like from him
Nothing on
How you said, my best friend:
"We go and visit them."
WHOM then? The earth which it covers
The green that it surrounds if the snow did not come?
Nevertheless, it proves no sense
if we think: Recollections are still much stronger than photos and are capable of films.
"I am sorry, my dear,
if we were there
if I was reminded of the pointless death
everything remained what:
if dust is in the vessels which I may not have with myself
 because laws are even colder
when one may imagine.
At the end of our days the soul turns white are left and I that I would not have to mourn,
 but now I do it.
