Three o'clock in the morning
I wake up 'cause someone calls
I feel the air is trying to warn me
So I bang my head against the wall
There's a huge amount of bottles
Half-filled, broken, lost and old
Left from last night's drunk experience
And then the room gets whorled and cold
I'm riding on a carrousel
Heaven's turning into hell
I'm getting lost in wine and booze
Feeling lonely, that's the truth
I'm wasting all my youth, my youth.
I get up but start to stumble
I'm crawling on the kitchen floor
I got no drinks, that makes me humble
My thirsty throat knocks on the door
So I'm trying to take a shower
And a pale light flashes my screen
My mind comes up, makes me remember
I barely had a change of scene
I'm riding on a carrousel
Heaven's turning into hell
I'm getting lost in wine and booze
Feeling lonely, that's the truth
I'm wasting all my youth, my youth.
Why have I done this to my body?
Drinking beer to kill my mind
Licking wounds all deep and bloody
And my friends are hard to find
Give me a reason to start weaning
Off all the demons overtaking me
I'd give my life a brand new meaning
With a perspective and alcohol-free.
I wrote this songtext for a young band called "By The Morgue" (released as "Inner Decision"). It was for a song competition and these guys came 4th. Visit their homepage for further information:
