Iris Feller

Hot in town

It’s so dreadfully hot in town
And all people are upside down
Their tongues are under their feet
They can’t stand this mean heat

I feel as if I were in an oven
And not sitting in my old hovel
I want to jump into my big fridge
Or hide in a cold and moist ditch
Everybody is so dripping wet
And wishing the bad heat will be dead

Wishing for some wind power
And a mighty rain shower
Hope it will come
And will stay long
Don’t want to burn
Weather must turn

I’m watching some clouds in the blue sky
And waiting for them wanting to cry
They should pour much water on the town
Because we don’t want to become too brown

Clouds, give us what we’re looking for!
Heat, we don’t want you anymore!

Wishing for some wind power
And a mighty rain shower
Hope it will come
And will stay long
Don’t want to burn
Weather must turn
