Monika Schmeinta-Maier

I miss you

Whenever the night comes
I pick up the phone
I'll text you
Because the longing won't let me sleep

Moonlight in my room
You're not with me
I keep staring
towards the entrance door
I miss you baby
Yes, I miss you so much
and my heart feels so empty

Whenever the night comes
I pick up the phone
I'll text you
Because the longing won't let me sleep

The loneliness breaks through me
Like the surf on the wide sea
Your laughter and your humor
I'm standing on
window and look up
to the distant starry sky

Whenever the night comes
I pick up the phone
I'll text you
Because her longing won't let me sleep

Then my phone rings
I pick up and can already hear his voice
You sigh softly and take a deep breath
Baby, I miss you
You're way too far there

Whenever the night comes
I pick up the phone
I'm writing an SMS
Because the longing won't let me sleep

I love you
