We killed the enemy
upon the field at night,
we killed the enemy
of passion and of pride,
we fought him every day
in every little fight,
but it's still there,
the enemy inside.
We burned the tarts and witches
in the middle age,
we made the demons run,
we locked them in a cage.
We brightened up the darkness
with our christian light,
but it's still there,
the enemy inside.
Then common sense was rising
and Darwin had his time.
We neutralized religion,
for it's the root of crime.
We re-wrote all mans history
and put the wrong things right,
but it's still there,
the enemy inside.
For some it were the russians,
for some the USA,
we had to kill each other,
to make shure, that one day
the good would be victorious,
the bad would all have died,
but it's still there, the enemy inside.
So you in your dark chamber,
member of the human race,
don't crawl under your bed,
come out and show your face!
Let's see what you are hiding,
step into the light,
and let's surround
the enemy inside!
That's another piece from my treasure box - one of my oldest poems. It might sound a little adolescent and my english might be not the best, but I still think, it's worth to be read. Enjoy it! Patrick
